Day 1

From RED PLANET EXPEDITION office leaving at 10:30 am. The train’s graveyard (first locomotives in Bolivia). afterwardsyou go to the small village of Colchani (Salt miners workshop next to the salt flats)visit the factories and see the rustic way of table salt production…… after this you will be taken to thegreat salt flat of Uyuni (salar de Uyuni) where you first will see the salt mining and the piles of salt (pyramids of salt) after this you go to see the eyes of the salt (big holes in the salt flat where the water from underneath of this death lake still comes out byhigh pressure) later you go straight to the hotel made out of salt (the only hotel allowed inside of the salt flats) where you take your time for pictures taking a look of the rooms and the lobby of the hotel (Playa Blanca) after lunch you will goforward to the central point of the salt which is the Inca Wasy island (fish island) where you see the giant cactus and the coral Rock formations ……… There will be always time to stop in the middle of the salt to see how big it is and see the unusual formations in the salt flat that look like (hexagons and pentagons) on top of it……. And something that you definitely have to do here are the pictures with the huge perspective (funny photos), where people looks tiny and funny, After some fun you go to look for a good place in the salts for sunset, and finally you will get back to Colchani miners town around 7:30 pm. to spend the night in our SALT HOSTEL.

 

Day 2

Early breakfast at the salt hostal 7:00 am Departure 9:30 am.  then we go through Uyuni and then Pulacayo. Púlacayo is a semi gost town where we visit the train museum, the presidencial house from eighteen hundreds, the doorway of an old silver mine, metal industry work shop (maestranza) entrance fee 10 bs per person. after we visited the Pulacayo old town, we will go forward to Tomave a small town 100 km from Uyuni to visit the spanish colonial church from 1669with paintings, marvel art and decoration from the seventeen hundreds entrance 10 bs per person. later we go to the Community of Saruyo, to take a bath and enjoy a natural Hot springs pool and the Sauna. after that we go to the old stonemill still working, K’asilla Lagoon, Green lagoon (view point from 4700 m.a.s.l.), Nuevo mundo (New world) desert. Return to Uyuni by 5:30 to 6 pm aprox.
